INTRODUCTION
GRAVITOR 60MG contains Pyridostigmine which belongs to group of medicines known as cholinesterase inhibitors. It is used to treat myasthenia gravis. This medicine stops the excessive activity of cholinesterase and in this way help muscles to work properly. Myasthenia gravis is a neuromuscular disorder that weakens the skeletal muscles used in the movement of the body. It is caused by excessive activity in the body of a protein called cholinesterase. This medicine is also used to treat some rare forms of constipation (paralytic ileus) and inability to pass urine after an operation. It inhibits the destruction of acetylcholine by cholinesterase and thereby permits freer transmission of nerve impulses across the neuromuscular junction.
Take GRAVITOR 60MG exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are suffering from any kidney problems, Parkinson’s disease, asthma, or stomach disorders, pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor will give the dose depends on your child’s age and body weight. The common side effects are stomach upset, diarrhoea and vomiting.

HOW GRAVITOR 60MG WORKS
GRAVITOR 60MG inhibits the destruction of acetylcholine by cholinesterase and thereby permits freer transmission of nerve impulses across the neuromuscular junction.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take GRAVITOR 60MG according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.

SERIOUS

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Diarrhoea:
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. ORS should be used to prevent dehydration.
Vomiting:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks. Eat light, bland foods and avoid fried, greasy, or sweet foods.

PREGNANCY
GRAVITOR 60MG should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
BREASTFEEDING
GRAVITOR 60MG should be used with caution for breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
GRAVITOR 60MG may reduce the sharpness of your eyesight. Do not drive or handle heavy machines while taking this medicine.
ALCOHOL
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine.
KIDNEY
GRAVITOR 60MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Pyridostigmine or any ingredients of this medicine.
HEART DISEASE
GRAVITOR 60MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active heart diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
OTHERS
Inform your doctor if you had or have a condition such as:
- Constipation
- Asthma or chest problems
- Low blood pressure.
- Stomach ulcer
- Epilepsy
- Parkinson’s disease
- Vagotonia (hyperexcitability of the vagus nerve)
- Overactive thyroid gland
INTERACTIONS
Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following:
- Steroids
- Immunosuppressants
- Antibiotics
- Medicines to treat an irregular heart beat
