Flutivate Ointment (Fluticasone Propionate 0.005%)

INTRODUCTION

FLUTIVATE contain Fluticasone which belongs to a group of medicine called corticosteroids. It is a potent corticosteroid that is applied to the skin to treat a wide variety of inflammatory skin diseases. It is used for the relief of inflamed skin, redness and itching in several skin problems not caused by germs and responsive to corticosteroids.

It works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching of the skin. It is only for external use. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with plenty of water in case of accidental contacts. Avoid covering the treated areas with airtight dressing such as bandage unless directed by a doctor. This medicine is strictly not recommended for use in children under 1 year. Before using this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Itching:

Apply a cold, wet cloth, or ice pack on the skin. Moisturize your skin. Apply cooling agents, such as menthol or calamine.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY
FLUTIVATE should only be used during pregnancy if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the unborn child. Consult your doctor for advice.

BREASTFEEDING
FLUTIVATE should only be used during lactation if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the child. Consult your doctor for advice.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
FLUTIVATE is not known to negatively affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

ALLERGY
Do not use FLUTIVATE if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to fluticasone or any other ingredients in this medicine.

OTHERS

Tell your doctor, if you:

Suffer from rosacea (flushing and inflammation of the facial skin), acne vulgaris or perioral dermatitis (inflammatory rash around the mouth)
Have infections of the skin with viruses such as herpes simplex or chickenpox
Suffer from perianal or genital pruritus (itching around the back passage and genitals)
Suffer from ulcers in the skin, atrophy (thinning of skin) or fragile skin vessels
Suffer from ichthyosis (skin disorder characterised by dryness and fish skin-like scaling on the skin)
Suffer from juvenile dermatosis (any skin diseases characterised by inflammation) or dermatosis in infants under 1 year of age, including dermatitis (inflammation of the skin) and napkin eruptions
Suffer from ulcerated injuries
Suffer from infected skin lesion caused by infection with fungi or bacteria
