This medication is used for decreasing the symptoms of gout such as swelling, pain, soreness, redness and stiffness in certain joints of the body. It belongs to the group of medications called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. The medicine works by decreasing the level of uric acid by blocking the xanthine oxidase enzyme.

The dosage of this tablet depends on your age, medical history and body’s reaction to the first dose. Your doctor must be informed if you ever had liver disease, heart disease and kidney disease. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother.
