Description

Famcimac 250 mg Tablet is an antiviral medicine used in the treatment of shingles, a herpes zoster infection which occurs in patients who have had chicken pox in the past. This infection causes pain, burning, and blisters. This medicine is also used to treat or prevent repeat outbreaks of fever, blisters, and cold sores in people with normal immunity and sores formed around genitals and rectum from time to time. It does not cure herpes infection and may not stop the spread of herpes infection to other people.

What is it prescribed for?
Herpes Zoster Infections
This medicine is used in the treatment of herpes zoster infection (shingles). The infection is characterized by a painful rash with blisters and burning. It occurs in patients who have had chicken pox in the past.
Genital Herpes
This medicine is used for the treatment and prevention of recurrent episodes of genital herpes, which are sores that form around the genitals and rectum from time to time in people with a normal immune system.
Herpes labialis
This medicine is used to treat repeat outbreaks of herpes cold sores and fever blisters that occur in people with a normal immune system.

Dosage

Missed Dose
If a dose of Famcimac 250 mg Tablet is missed, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost the time for the next dose, continue with the normal dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.
