ERYTHROMYCIN 500MG contains Erythromycin which belongs to a group of medicines called macrolide antibiotics

What ERYTHROMYCIN 500MG is used for?

It is used to prevent and treat infections such as:

Throat and sinus infections
Chest infections, such as bronchitis and pneumonia
Eye and ear infections
Mouth and dental infections
Skin and tissue infections
Stomach and intestinal infections
Prevention of infection following burns, operations or dental procedures
Other infections, such as sexually transmitted diseases, bone infections or scarlet fever

Warning & Precautions

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

Are allergic or hypersensitive to Erythromycin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Suffer from a condition called myasthenia gravis
Have liver or gall bladder problems
Have a sexually transmitted disease called syphilis

Directions & For Use

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
If you take more ERYTHROMYCIN 500MG

If you accidentally take more medicine in one day than your doctor has told you to or if a child has taken some of the medicine by mistake, contact your doctor or go to your nearest hospital immediately
Symptoms of overdosage are: temporary hearing loss, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea
If you forget to take ERYTHROMYCIN 500MG

If you forget to take a dose of your medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take more medicine in one day than your doctor tells you to
If you stop taking ERYTHROMYCIN 500MG

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

Side Effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Difficulty breathing
Fainting
Swelling of the face, lips or throat
Skin rashes
Severe skin reactions including large fluid-filled blisters, sores and ulcers
Ulcers in the mouth and throat

Storage

Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
