New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s belongs to a group of medicines known as macrolide antibiotics. It is used to treat various bacterial infections of respiratory system (like pneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and sinusitis), skin infections (like acne and rosacea), ear infections, and sexually transmitted infections. Bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grows in the body and cause infection. It can target any body part and multiple very quickly.

New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s slow the growth or sometimes kill the harmful bacteria by preventing production of proteins required by the bacteria for its survival. New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s does not treat a viral infection like flu or a common cold.

New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s should only be taken if advised by your doctor.  It can be taken with or without food but should be consumed at a fixed time for best results. New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s should not be consumed more than the recommended dose, to avoid unpleasant side effects. And also, the course should be completed even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic. Some common side effects of New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, indigestion. Allergic reaction such as rashes, itching, swelling, and shortness of breath can occur in rare cases. Please consult your doctor if allergic reaction becomes severe.

Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, muscle problem (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), porphyria (rare genetic blood disorder), electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level). In rare case, use of New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s can cause diarrhoea, so in case if you have watery or bloody diarrhoea, stop taking New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s and call your doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s harm baby in pregnancy or not. However, it is usually safe to use New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s during pregnancy and while breastfeeding only if doctor has prescribed you.

Besides this, it also helps in the prevention of infection following burns, surgery or dental procedure, sexually transmitted infections, bone infections or scarlet fever (bacterial illness with strep throat).

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure. For best results of New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s, take it one hour before meal or two hours after meal. If you are using any antacid keep gap of at least 2 hours gap between intake of New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s and antacid.

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

Most of the side effects of New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. Most common side effect of New Erythrocin 500 Tablet 10’s are diarrhoea, feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting), and stomach cramps, loss of appetite, bloating and indigestion. Very rarely, it can cause chest pain, skin rash, stomach pain, yellowing of skin/eyes, seizures (fits), hallucination, ringing in the ear, and fever. These side effects may be for short interval of time, but if these persists speak with the doctor.
