Dejac-T Tablet

Dejac T Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of Dapoxetine and Tadalafil. It is used mainly to treat premature ejaculation in adult men. Dejac T Tablet acts by relaxing the blood vessels of your penis, allowing better blood flow into your penis when you get sexually excited. This medicine is also used for conditions such as prostate gland enlargement, impotence and pulmonary hypertension (high BP).

Dejac T Tablet shows side effects that include headache, nose bleeds, dizziness, nausea, indigestion, flushing (sensation of warmth in the ears, face, neck etc) and dry mouth. It also causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental alertness after taking this medicine.

Dejac T Tablet can be taken with or without food three-four hours before intercourse as advised by your doctor. Do not take it without consulting your doctor. Dejac T Tablet should be used with caution if you have kidney or liver problems. Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures, depression, and other psychiatric disorders.

Dejac T Tablet can interact with other medicines and cause undesirable effects. Inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking. If you experience pain after using this medicine or erection persists for more than four hours after intercourse, consult your doctor.

Uses of Dejac T Tablet

What is it prescribed for?
Premature ejaculation
Dejac T Tablet is used to treat premature ejaculation. It prolongs the time taken to ejaculate and helps in achieving better control during intercourse.
Erectile Dysfunction
Dejac T Tablet is used for the treatment of impotence; where achieving and sustaining an erection is a problem while having sexual intercourse. However, it will work only if there is sexual stimulation.
Pulmonary arterial hypertension
Dejac T Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure of arteries present in the lungs and right side of the heart. It also improves oxygen capacity while exercising.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Dejac T Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of age-related prostate gland enlargement which may include painful, difficult, and frequent urination.

When not to use?

Allergy

Dejac T Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to dapoxetine or any other ingredients present along with it. Consult your doctor if you experience any symptoms like rash, hives, itching, redness of the skin, breathing difficulties, etc.

Heart failure

Dejac T Tablet is not recommended for use if you have any medical condition of the heart due to the increased risk of worsening of your condition.

Heart rhythm disorders

Dejac T Tablet is not recommended if you have abnormalities of the heart rhythm due to the increased risk of worsening of your condition.

Bipolar disorder

Dejac T Tablet is not recommended if you have a history of mania or severe depression (bipolar disorder) due to the increased risk of worsening of your condition.

Loss of consiousness

Dejac T Tablet is not recommended for use if you have syncope characterized by frequent loss of consciousness and muscle strength due to the increased risk of worsening of the symptoms.

Kidney diseases

Dejac T Tablet is not recommended if you have kidney problems due to the increased risk of severe side effects. Frequent monitoring of your kidney function may be required.

Liver disease

Dejac T Tablet is not recommended if you have liver problems due to the increased risk of severe side effects. Frequent monitoring of your liver function may be required.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)are a class of medicines used to treat depression. Dejac T Tablet is not recommended for use if you have taken MAOIs within the last 14 days due to the increased risk of serious side effects.

Thioridazine

Thioridazine is a first-generation antipsychotic medicine that is used in the treatment of mental health conditions. Dejac T Tablet is not recommended for use if you are taking thioridazine. Dejac T Tablet should not be taken within 14 days of discontinuing treatment with thioridazine. Similarly, thioridazine can be taken 7 days after stopping the uptake of Dejac T Tablet.

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are the most commonly prescribed medicines that are used in the treatment of depression. Dejac T Tablet is not recommended for use if you are taking any other medicine belonging to the Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) class (ex: citalopram). Dejac T Tablet should not be taken within 14 days of discontinuing treatment with any SSRI medicines. Similarly, other SSRI medicine can be taken 7 days after stopping the uptake of Dejac T Tablet.

Dosage

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Dejac T Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

General Instructions

Dejac T Tablet can be taken with or without food as directed by your physician. Usually, it is taken one to three hours before anticipated sexual activity.

Dejac T Tablet should be taken only once every every day.

Avoid driving or doing any activity requiring concentration until you know how Dejac T Tablet affects you.

Dejac T Tablet may cause a drop in your blood pressure, so to prevent fainting, it is advised to get up slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.

Inform your doctor if the erection persists for more than four hours after sexual intercourse.

Avoid Dejac T Tablet if you have had a heart attack in the past three months, or stroke or heart failure in the past six months.

Keep Dejac T Tablet out of reach of children and pets. Ensure that the unused medicine is disposed of properly.
