Medical Description

Aziwok 500 tablet contains azithromycin, an antibiotic. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections. Azithromycin prevents the spread of infection by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for bacterial cell growth, thus resulting in cell death. You should take this medicine only if it is prescribed by the doctor and try to take the medicine at the same time every day to get the optimum results. Antibiotics are only effective against bacterial infections not for viral, so using them unnecessarily can lead to antibiotic resistance.

Aziwok 500 tablet is used in the treatment of mild to moderate susceptible infection associated with skin and soft tissues, ears, tonsils, throat, Urinary infection and respiratory tract infections.
It is also used for the treatment of enteric fever and pneumonia or lung infection due to coming in contact with an infected person (CAP).

contraindications

If you are allergic reaction to azithromycin, any other antibiotic or any other ingredient of Aziwok 500 tablet.

Pregnancy

It is advised to discard the milk during treatment and until two days after discontinuation of the treatment. You can restart breastfeeding thereafter.

Driving

Aziwok 500 tablet works by killing or inhibiting the growth of bacteria that causes infection.

Directions for Use of Aziwok 500 MG

It should be taken orally with half a glass of water.
Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
It would be best if you take it at a fixed time for optimal results and should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
Complete the course of the medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Interactions of Aziwok 500 MG

Interactions with other medicines
Sometimes Aziwok 500 tablet may affect the way other medicines work and other medicines may affect how Aziwok 500 tablet works if taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
In particular, if you are taking medicines to treat heart-related disorder like digoxin, anti-HIV medicines, antihypertensive medicines, immunosuppressants like cyclosporin, blood thinners like warfarin, medicines to treat migraine, etc.
Antacids should be taken with a minimum gap of at least one hour with the Aziwok 500 tablet.
You may experience irregular heart rhythm if you are taking Aziwok 500 tablet concomitantly along with medicines like cisapride that are used to treat gastric reflux diseases.
