arent cause. It is called antipsychotic medication. It can be used to treat the illness in its acute stage (severe) and its chronic stage (long term). The active ingredient in Amazeo is Amisulpride. The medication works to increase dopamine levels in the body. It is important that you take Amazeo as prescribed. Stopping the meds suddenly has shown eruption of withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sweating, sleep issues, agitation. The dose needs to be gradually tapered as per the doctor’s advice before stopping it completely.

Uses of Amazeo 100 MG

Treatment of acute (severe) and chronic (long term) Schizophrenia.
Management of Schizophrenia associated with positive symptoms such as delusions (having uncommon thoughts), hallucinations (experiencing things not real), distrustful or hostile behaviour without apparent cause.

Contraindications of Amazeo 100 MG

If you are allergic to Amisulpride or any other ingredients of Amazeo.
If you have breast cancer or have been diagnosed with a ‘prolactin dependent tumour’.
If you have pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumour).
If you are undergoing treatment for Parkinson’s disease with levodopa.

Pregnancy

Can I take Amazeo during pregnancy?

No. Amazeo should not be used during pregnancy as significant unfavourable symptoms may occur in the babies, such as weakness, increased sleepiness, restlessness or breathing difficulties. Consult your doctor prior to starting therapy during pregnancy or if you plan to become pregnant or you are not using any effective birth control methods.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Amazeo while breastfeeding?

No. It is not recommended to breastfeed while undergoing therapy with Amazeo. Consult your physician prior to use during breastfeeding.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Amazeo?

Do not drive while taking Amazeo as it can decrease mental alertness cause drowsiness and hazy vision.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Amazeo?

No, you should not consume alcohol while taking Amazeo, as the medication can increase the effects of alcohol.

Mode of Action of Amazeo 100 MG

How Does It Work?

Amisulpride in Amazeo acts by selectively working on certain areas of the brain (dopaminergic receptors), resulting in an increase in the levels of dopamine. Dopamine plays an important role in mood, motivation, memory etc. Low levels of dopamine cause depression. By effectively increasing the levels of dopamine in the body, Amazeo relieves symptoms of depression.

Directions for Use of Amazeo 100 MG

Depending on the prescribed dose, take the medication dose daily.
Take this medication on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
Do not break/crush the tablet or chew this medicine; take it as a whole.
Do not take this tablet with other meds; consult your doctor first.
Don’t stop taking this medication in between, as it may lead to withdrawal side effects.
Do not consume if the package has been opened.
Don’t exceed the dosage, even if you cannot feel its effects.

Interactions of Amazeo 100 MG

Interactions with other medicines

Medications to treat Parkinson’s disease (bromocriptine or ropinirole) as it can increase the chance of seizure.
Medicines used to correct heart rhythm (such as quinidine, disopyramide, procainamide, amiodarone, sotalol) when used with Amazeo could cause problems in heart rhythm.
Medications that can decrease the heart rate such as beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers such as diltiazem and verapamil, clonidine, guanfacine and digitalis
Medications that can cause hypokalemia (decrease potassium) or electrolyte imbalance such as water pills, diuretics, laxatives, amphotericin B (antifungal medication), glucocorticoids (used to manage asthma or rheumatoid arthritis), and tetracosactides (used for diagnosis).
Medications not recommended with Amazeo due to the potential side effects include antipsychotics such as pimozide, and haloperidol, clozapine, imipramine or lithium (to treat depression), medications used to treat allergies (antihistamines) such as astemizole, and terfenadine, and mefloquine (treat malaria)
Concomitant use with narcotics (used to treat severe pain), anaesthetics, analgesics (pain killers), antihistamines such as promethazine can cause sleepiness and significantly increase the effect of Amazeo.
