Travacom Eye Drop (Timolol 5mg / Travoprost 40mcg)

Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml is a combination drug containing ‘ophthalmic medication‘ used to treat raised pressure in the eye. Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml is used alone or in combination with other drugs. Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions in which the optic nerve is damaged. This damage is often caused by an abnormally high pressure in your eye. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness for people over the age of 60.

Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml contains Travoprost (prostaglandin analogue) and Timolol (beta-blocker), timolol primarily used in treating ocular hypertension (high pressure of the eye). Travoprost works by increasing the drainage of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye) from the eye and reducing increased eye pressure. Timolol works by decreasing the production of fluid in the eye. As the increased pressure can lead to a disease called glaucoma. If the pressure is too high, it can also lead to loss of sight. Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml should be put only in the effected eye and contact with the normal eye should be avoided.

Take Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition. The most common side effects of Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml are eye pain, darkening of eyelashes, stinging sensation, irritation, foreign body sensation, change in the iris’s colour, itching, and burning sensation in the eye.  Most of these side effects of Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml are temporary, do not require medical attention, and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Use Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml only if the doctor prescribes you. Never encourage self-medication or suggest your medicine to someone else. You should not stop taking Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml suddenly as it may increase eye pressure. Do not take Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml if you are allergic to sulphonamides, beta-blockers or have a severe kidney or liver disease. Check with your doctor before starting Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml if you have dry eyes and cornea problem. If you wear contact lenses or wearing them, remove it before using Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml and you can put it back 15 minutes after using Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml.Also, do not stop Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml abruptly as it may lead to severe side-effects. Do not take any other eye medication with Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml, without consulting your doctor.

Glaucoma, Ocular hypertension (increased eye pressure)

Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml ophthalmic comes as a solution (liquid) for instilling in the eye. It is generally instilled in the affected eye(s) once a day at night. Try taking the drug at about the same time every day. Follow the instructions on your medication label closely and ask your doctor to clarify any part you don’t understand. Use Travacom Eye Drops 2.5 ml as directed; please do not take it more or less or use it more frequently than your doctor recommended.

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight
