Cardace 10 Tablet (Ramipril 10mg)

Description

Cardace 10 MG Tablet contains Ramipril which is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and certain other heart conditions. It may also be used to prevent and reduce the risk of a heart attack. This medicine works by relaxing the blood vessels and promotes a smooth flow of the blood.

Cardace 10 MG Tablet has some side effects like headache, cough, diarrhoea, stomach pain and nausea. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines and rise slowly from a sitting or lying down position if you feel dizzy while on treatment with Cardace 10 MG Tablet. Let your doctor know about any cough or throat irritation that does not go away. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it.

Cardace 10 MG Tablet intake should not be stopped suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. This is a widely used medicine and is considered safe for long-term use.

Cardace 10 MG Tablet is safe for you only when the entire medical and medication history (especially the use of Aliskiren) is shared with your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding before taking Cardace 10 MG Tablet.

Uses of Cardace 10 MG Tablet

What is it prescribed for?
Hypertension
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition in which the force exerted by the blood on the blood vessel walls is high. Cardace 10 MG Tablet is used to reduce blood pressure.
Cardiovascular risk reduction
Cardace 10 MG Tablet is indicated to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke (decreased blood flow to your brain), or death from cardiovascular causes. Especially if you are at high risk of developing a major cardiovascular event.
Congestive Heart Failure
Cardace 10 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF) post-heart attack. CHF occurs when the heart muscle doesn’t pump blood as well as it should. It is a type of heart problem characterized by symptoms such as shortness of breath, weakness, fatigue, swelling of ankles and feet, etc.
Renal disease
Cardace 10 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of diabetic glomerular nephropathy (kidney damage as a result of increased blood sugar levels).

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking Cardace 10 MG Tablet if you are allergic to this medicine. Seek medical attention if you see symptoms such as skin rash, swelling (of face, lips, tongue, etc.), breathing difficulty, etc.
Aliskiren
Combined use of Cardace 10 MG Tablet together with Aliskiren (a drug used to treat high blood pressure) is not recommended if you have diabetes and/or kidney impairment with CrCl less than 60 ml/min. Combined use of these medicines may increase the risk of side effects.
Renal artery stenosis
Renal artery stenosis is a condition in which the blood vessels that carry blood to your kidneys become narrow and restrict blood flow. Cardace 10 MG Tablet is not recommended if you have renal artery stenosis as it reduces the filtration capacity of your kidneys. This increases the amount of unused medicine in your blood resulting in toxicity.

Dosage

Missed Dose
If you missed a dose of Cardace 10 MG Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Take your next dose at your usual time. Do not double the dose.
Overdose
If you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of this Cardace 10 MG Tablet, go to the emergency department of your local hospital.
